Initial roughing
Initial surface grinding is the process used to refine the surface after machining, reducing roughness and visible tool marks.
The work is carried out progressively, through a series of controlled stages, to achieve a uniform surface and prepare the component for subsequent operations, including finishing, engraving, polishing and gilding.
The result is a cleaner, more even surface, providing an essential foundation for the subsequent stages of processing.
